Besides the beaches, the municipality of Sluis also has a rich history, with city of culture Aardenburg as highlight. Aardenburg already exists almost 2000 years and was founded by the Roman army. In the archaeological museum in Aardenburg you can see the whole history. In the month of March every year the famous Matthew Passion will be played in the St. Baafskerk with its good acoustics.
In Aardenburg is a C1000 supermarket, which is open until 20:00 Friday night. Here everything is available, including fresh meat.
